A fine quality Regency Revival flame mahogany breakfront library bookcase of impressive proportions, dating to the early 20th century. Constructed in richly figured mahogany throughout, the cabinet displays exceptional colour and a beautifully mellow patina, enhanced by striking flame mahogany veneers across both the glazed upper section and the enclosed cupboard base.
The upper bookcase is fitted with four astragal glazed doors, each retaining their original glazing and elegant Gothic-inspired glazing bars. Behind the doors are a series of adjustable shelves, allowing the cabinet to accommodate books and decorative objects of varying heights. The moulded cornice is finished with a decorative dentil frieze, adding a refined architectural quality to the piece, while the breakfront form gives the cabinet an imposing yet well-balanced appearance.
The lower section is enclosed by four panelled cupboard doors, all veneered in beautifully matched flame mahogany. The central pair open to reveal a generous cupboard fitted with a fixed shelf, while each of the side cupboards is fitted with a useful drawer to the top above a shelved storage compartment, providing excellent concealed storage for a variety of items.
The cabinet breaks down into several sections for ease of transportation and installation, making it practical to move and position within the home.
