A substantial and finely made oak refectory or dining table of traditional form, the rectangular top displaying well-figured grain and a warm, even tone, with gently moulded edges above a carved frieze. The frieze is particularly distinctive, ornamented with a continuous band of repeating oval and leaf motifs, lending a strong decorative rhythm while retaining an overall restrained, architectural character.
The top is supported on a pair of bold, turned baluster legs, each raised on splayed trestle feet with fluted detailing and carved terminals. The legs are united by a longitudinal stretcher, providing both structural strength and visual balance.
