A charming and finely cast 19th century patinated bronze table lamp modelled as a winged cherub or putto, standing gracefully upon one foot atop a scrolling wheel and cloud-form base. The youthful figure is depicted in a lively classical pose, raising the lamp holder aloft whilst clutching a flowing drapery sash to his side. The sculpture displays excellent detail throughout, from the finely modelled curls and expressive facial features to the delicately cast wings and naturalistic anatomy.
The rich dark bronze patina has developed an attractive depth and character over time, highlighting the quality of the casting and enhancing the sculptural form. The figure is mounted on a circular fluted socle base and has been professionally rewired and fully tested, making it ready for immediate use while retaining all of its decorative appeal and period character.
