An impressive mahogany compactum wardrobe by the renowned cabinetmakers Maple & Co., dating from the early 20th century.
The wardrobe is beautifully decorated with Art Nouveau marquetry depicting stylised flowers, leaves and insects, worked in contrasting timbers. The central section has a pair of cupboard doors enclosing a fitted shelf, above four graduated drawers with decorative metal handles. One drawer features a particularly striking marquetry design of large stylised leaves.
The full-length doors on either side open to reveal spacious hanging compartments, each fitted with a brass rail. Raised beneath a moulded cornice and standing on a plinth base.
