A substantial late 19th century solid elm refectory dining table of impressive proportions, constructed throughout in richly figured elm with exceptional natural grain and colour. The generous rectangular plank top is framed by a moulded border and displays an abundance of character with attractive knots, burrs and flowing grain patterns that have developed a wonderful warm honey tone over time.
The table stands on four boldly turned baluster legs with substantial square corner blocks, united by robust stretchers in the traditional refectory manner, providing excellent strength and stability.
