A superb quality 19th century William IV rosewood chaise longue of elegant form, raised on finely turned and reeded front legs terminating in the original brass cup castors. The beautifully figured rosewood frame has a rich deep colour throughout, with crisply carved scroll arm supports and sweeping shaped ends, all typical of the refined design associated with the William IV period.
The chaise retains its generously upholstered deep buttoned seat and back, finished in a soft pink fabric with matching bolster cushion and decorative tassel detail. The flowing single arm and rolled back create an elegant silhouette, giving the piece both comfort and strong decorative appeal.
Standing on substantial turned legs with original castors, this chaise combines graceful proportions with a solid and practical construction.
