A fine quality Edwardian mahogany side chair in the elegant Hepplewhite manner, dating from the early 20th century. The chair features a beautifully shaped shield back with intricate pierced and carved decoration, incorporating classical swags, floral detail and an urn-form central splat, all executed with excellent craftsmanship.
The elegant frame stands on tapered legs with fluted decoration to the front, giving the chair a refined and graceful appearance. The rich mahogany has developed a lovely warm colour and patina over the years, complementing the delicate carved detail throughout.
