A highly decorative pair of Regency style mahogany bergère armchairs of elegant sweeping form, each having a finely shaped and moulded top rail with scrolling ram’s head terminals above open cane work backs and sides. The outswept arms are carved with delicate trailing detail and terminate on fluted seat rails with carved roundel corner blocks.
Raised on turned and reeded front legs with sabre rear supports, the chairs retain their cane seats fitted with newly made leather upholstered loose cushions, providing both comfort and refinement. The rich mahogany timber has acquired a warm deep patina which contrasts beautifully against the dark cane work.
