A highly decorative 19th century Portuguese rosewood chest of drawers, displaying a rich, deep colour and attractive aged patina throughout.
The rectangular chest is fitted with four generously proportioned long drawers, each decorated with bold geometric moulded panels and fitted with pierced brass backplates and drop handles. Substantial barley-twist columns flank the drawer fronts, while the panelled sides, carved mouldings and shaped scrollwork gallery add further architectural interest.
The chest is raised on four turned supports, united by shaped and turned stretchers.
